Dr. Rogelio Villarreal is a native from Monterrey, Mexico, graduated from the Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) with a course specialty in Ophthalmology at the Institute Tecnologico y Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), with a subspecialty in refractive surgery (laser eye surgery for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism). Cornea and Cataract Surgery at Harvard Medical School, Boston Mass. USA, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Tex. USA y Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami Fla. USA.

Dr. Villarreal is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Mexican Center for Cornea and Refractive Surgery. The Mexican Council of Ophthalmology certified Dr. Villarreal.

An active professor in surgical techniques and laser eye treatments, has certified hundreds of ophthalmologists around the world.

Dr. Villarreal has been a principal investigator in Mexico for Bausch and Lomb, Staar Surgical, Sunrise Inc. and Anamed Inc.; companies focused in the development of new procedures for the laser eye surgery, having performed over 20,000 procedures for correction of refractive errors

Recognized expert in the laser eye surgery field, has been elected to share his experiences through professional publications and presentations in United States, Germany, China, Argentina, South Africa and France, which have been recognized with research and clinic application awards.

Dr. Villarreal has also been a pioneer in multiple procedures for the vision corrections, including laser Termoqueratoplastia, intraocular lenses for the myopia, Intraestromales lenses for the hyperopia, customized ablation with the excimer laser and microkeratome used in the present.
